It’s been a challenging year. Our commitment to rigorous education and research
remains unchanged.

When face-to-face study, research, and social activities were suspended in mid-March 2020 because of the coronavirus lockdown, the Barcelona GSE drew on 13 years of experience in international higher education to foster the spirit of collaboration and community that define the Barcelona GSE experience.

Our faculty and staff made extraordinary efforts to maintain the Barcelona GSE’s exacting standards of graduate education and research during a global pandemic. They adapted to new ways of working, and they incorporated feedback from students to devise solutions that best fit the group.

Our students demonstrated resilience and determination and overcame the unexpected challenges of the second half of the year, completing a Master’s degree that is rigorous and intense.

Our alumni shared real-time recruiting insights with the Class of 2020 to help them navigate a very unusual job market. They went above and beyond by chatting with the in-coming Class of 2021, giving them the confidence to choose Barcelona GSE.

The dedication, flexibility, and collaboration of the entire Barcelona GSE community, our sponsors, and our friends were essential to the success of this academic year. It is thanks to all of them that we can proudly present this annual report for 2019-20, a year marked by the virus but also by the strength of all the people who make the Barcelona GSE what it is: a center for excellence whose impact extends beyond our classrooms and our city.
