The Seed Grants program aims to fill a gap in the availability of funding that researchers often face at the beginning of their careers. They also fund researchers at more advanced stages of their careers who require special data or research assistance support.
By addressing both of these needs, the Seed Grants strengthen our capability to both attract and retain Affiliated Professors conducting applied research.
Seed Grant funding was awarded to 14 Affiliated Professors in the 2022 call.
The Economics “Trobada” is an annual gathering of Barcelona School of Economics affiliated professors that marks the beginning of the academic year, introduces new faculty and their work to the research community, and serves as a venue for debate and idea exchange on current Economics issues.

The event was also an opportunity to meet Mar Reguant (Northwestern and BSE), who joins the community this year as Barcelona School of Economics Research Fellow. A specialist on Energy Economics, Reguant was one of four participants in the Trobada’s closing roundtable, “What is happening in the electricity market?”
